ABOUT ME

I am a native Idahoan, born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I currently live on a farm in Star, Idaho with my husband, where we raise Boer goats and chickens. My husband, John, was born and raised on a cattle ranch in eastern Oregon, and when we married, we decided to find a location between both of our families, ending up in Star in 1992. Having both grown up on farms, we knew this was the lifestyle we wanted for our family, and began to raise cattle. However, after my two daughters and I were chased over the fence one to many times by angry cows, John and I decided that maybe we should look into raising other animals. After some research, John proposed we look into buying a herd of Boer Goats. Well, you can imagine my reaction – all I could envision was rusted implements and chewed up tin cans. However, we needed animals to keep the pasture down so we purchased our first herd of 22 Boer cross does.

It didn’t take long to fall in love with our goats, and our daughters began showing them in 4-H at the local county fair. Goats are extremely intelligent, loving, great moms to their young, and they bond with their humans. They also provide great fertilizer for gardens!

So, how did I get from goats to soaps, scrubs and baby hats? That is a good question. I love to garden; I thoroughly enjoy raising my own food. I grow flowers and I dry rose petals, lavender, calendula and other interesting plants. I had a vivid dream one night that I had a fruit and vegetable stand by our property and I incorporated soaps and scrubs in with the veggies and fruits. I named my stand “Little Annie’s Shoots and Sprouts”. It made me so happy! The dream never left me so I began to educated myself on products used in soaps and scrubs that featured goat’s milk and coconut oil. Well, the rest is history and I’ve been having a blast ever since.

This has been a family team effort; John has an accounting background, so he’s helped me with spreadsheets for all my business ventures. Our daughter designed the logo and web page, and our other daughter has been my soap and scrub tester. I rely on their love and support and they get A+'s in both areas.

I hand pour all of my soaps, carefully blending my ingredients, and I personally create all of my scrubs. Each of my baby hats are made with love.
